We are looking for two new associate veterinarians to round out our team. For those looking for emergency specific mentorship, we have a great team of experienced emergency veterinarians who are happy and willing to share their knowledge. Our goal is to make our emergency team as well rounded and capable as possible, which means a ton of additional training for those at the beginning of their careers. Our mission is to put the experience of our employees at the forefront of how we operate. Of course we want to practice high-quality medicine and provide first-class care to our clients (we expect that you do too), but running a business with a sense of moral obligation towards our staff comes first. The same empathy given to our clients needs to be given to our employees, and we are excited to move forward with our dream. What does that mean? It means as owners, we dont take a ridiculous profit from the hospital at the expense of our employees. We want our practice to have sustainable employment! We also love efficiency, so you can bet we will be spending time, MONEY and energy making your job as easy as possible, with the technology and tools that you WANT, not just the ones you need. We think they are ridiculous and unwarranted, particularly for ER medicine. It is our job to make sure you want to continue working for us. Also no intellectual property clauses. Invent away! We defend our employees like a momma bear WITHOUT HESITATION and have a no- tolerance policy for clients being disrespectful to staff. We are ALL about communicating effectively with clients - we've found that the happiest clients are the ones that understand the most about their pets care. We have numerous ideas of how to achieve this without YOU educating them hand in hand. Private doctor office with twin bed for sleeping on overnight shifts (because that is OK). Specialty staff include cardiology and surgery, with internal medicine and ophthalmology joining summer 2023. 10,000 sq ft hospital w/ CT/fluoroscopy, digital radiography, IDEXX lab w/ renovation planned spring 2023 Cloud based EMR/treatment system so you can do records from home Highly trained, well paid staff with support programs for training and obtaining CVT/VTS licenses No employee makes less than $18/hr (our CVT pay starts at $24/hr, and we still think this is low, we want to do better) Profit sharing bonus plans LGBTQ+ and BIPOC allies Ability to schedule multiple weeks off for extended vacations We do not drug test for cannabis. Bend Animal Emergency and Specialty Center is proud to offer a unique opportunity to new or recently internship-trained veterinarians that are interested in furthering their skill sets in critical care medicine, ultrasonography, emergency surgery and endoscopy, without the uncomfortable grind and additional years of low-paid internship and residency programs. Bend Animal Emergency and Specialty Center is a privately owned specialty and critical care center operated by two progressive, experienced, and down-to-earth ER veterinarians. What's our goal? To cultivate an employee focused practice that promotes long-term careers in emergency and specialty veterinary medicine. We are looking for two new associate veterinarians to round out our team. For those looking for emergency specific mentorship, we have a great team of experienced emergency veterinarians who are happy and willing to share their knowledge. They will be able to guide you in obtaining valuable skills and experience in advanced abdominal surgery, advanced imaging (CT, ultrasound) and emergency endoscopic procedures. Our goal is to make our emergency team as well rounded and capable as possible, which means a ton of additional training for those at the beginning of their careers. For many, the current state of veterinary medicine makes them want to switch things up. Maybe the pace of ER veterinary medicine in large cities seems overwhelming? Does academia seem soul sucking and inefficient? Portland and Seattle too intense? Idaho just not doing it for you? Unhappy with options in Colorado? Want to practice high-end critical care medicine but have access to an incredible rural landscape minutes from where you live and work? Well then... let me tell you about a little place called Bend, Oregon, the not so little tourist town at the foot of the southern Cascade mountain range, in the heart of Central Oregon. The population of our service area is around 150,000 people, making our ER flow very manageable, with a triage board that can actually be cleared, and a bed that can actually be slept in by overnight doctors! To be honest, we kind of have a chip on our collective shoulder. By 2023, over 50% of veterinary practices will be corporate owned. Candy companies and venture capitalists are taking over the industry, managing hospitals using only spreadsheets and profit margins. We REALLY don't like this trend. We work in a diverse, empathetic and emotional industry, and we want to do everything possible to promote both the individuality of our hospital, and of our employees. We are SO over the days of reading about "competitive" benefits/wages and an unwarranted "positive team culture" written by recruiters that know nothing about the hospital (look at their ads on here… they all read the same!) Veterinary ERs are dying and reorganizing across the country. Something has to change. We decided to go against the grain... to support our workers and hospital first above all, which is a lot easier when 90% of our profits don't get sent to a corporate coffer in another state. We believe that treating our employees better than the "industry average" is what needs to happen for people to survive in our profession. We want to give you a GOOD REASON to be positive in the workplace, not just expect it as your baseline! It means as owners, we don't take a ridiculous profit from the hospital at the expense of our employees. We want our practice to have sustainable employment! We also love efficiency, so you can bet we will be spending time, MONEY and energy making your job as easy as possible, with the technology and tools that you WANT, not just the ones you need. Remember, we work there too! Check out this article, released during our first month of ownership, if you want another taste of our passion towards helping our community: https://centraloregondaily.com/bend-veterinarians-donate-ct-scan-to-injured-golden-eagle/ Finally, we want to be as transparent as possible. See below for actual salary numbers and medical benefits. Need to knows: Looking for someone with emergency experience or that has at least completed a 1 year internship Will mentor those unsure about emergency procedures and surgery - WE LOVE TO TEACH Owned and operated by 2 emergency veterinarians (we work overnights too, both trained at Dove Lewis) 25% production, 10 to 12 hr shifts, $120k - $160k/year (depends on average # shifts). Bend is growing rapidly, we expect high producers to reach $180k within 1 to 2 years. Base insurance plan is 100% paid for by us (PPO, $3500 deductible, for all staff) with cheap buy up options that get deductibles down to $500 for around $100/month! Did I mention NO NON-COMPETES!! We think they are ridiculous and unwarranted, particularly for ER medicine. It is our job to make sure you want to continue working for us. Also no intellectual property clauses. Invent away! We defend our employees like a momma bear WITHOUT HESITATION and have a no-tolerance policy for clients being disrespectful to staff. We are ALL about communicating effectively with clients - we've found that the happiest clients are the ones that understand the most about their pet's care. It is legal here. We laugh, we cuss, we joke, we try to have fun with this job as it can be soul-sucking. We love a good cat abscess or cannabis toxicity. Rarely, an enucleated globe ends up in someone's locker (in formalin... in formalin...) We hope that you will have fun too.

More than just a Mixed Animal Practice! Are you tired of navigating the ins and out of veterinary job ads? We are too! Look, we are a keep-it-real, drive it forward, team of people who love where we live, who we work with and what we do. Let us break it down for you! Who: We are a two-location, two-doctor (two mommas) practice with an awesome support team in the heart of Kansas. We are all about family and living and working rural. Where: We eat, sleep, breathe, play, and work in cow-calf country in rural Kansas. Literally more cows than people (like ten cows to each person) and we are close to a large, local college town for people-needs (AKA great restaurants, shopping, fun social events and general suburban awesome). What: We are truly mixed. For example, our current “number of species seen in one day” record is eight. Overall, we see a lot of beef cattle and cats and dogs along with numerous small ruminants, exotics (hoof stock and pocket pets), horses, whitetail deer, camelids and anything but primates. Primates are a no-go for us. Why: The whole truth. This work involves less than ideal weather, equally shared on-call hours and some hard work. So why do we do this? We have the equipment (plus some cool toys) to get the work done and full facilities to work safely, but it's really about the PEOPLE. The team and our clients make our days fun, buffer the struggles, and give our job purpose. What we can promise: ? True teamwork and support. This team wants you, us, and the whole practice to succeed. ? Hands-on Mentorship. We will coach, lead, and help you become the doctor you want to be. ? Diverse caseload. Eight species is pretty good, but there are more for us to work on. ? Room to grow. We encourage new ideas and to develop interests and skills within the practice. ? Purpose. We want you to feel your work has purpose and you feel a part of your community. Please contact us at LCMack88@gmail.com to apply or inquire further. Check us out on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or at www.theanimalhospitalks.com
