On-site housing may be available to externs.

Broadreach is seeking veterinary program instructors for our summer 2025 season. Instructors will lead international programs for High School students based in Costa Rica.
Broadreach runs immersive veterinary medicine programs for middle and high school students. Programs include a 12-day adventure in the Bahamas and a more in-depth 21-day veterinary science program in Costa Rica, where students earn college credits on their trip.
Our most successful instructors are positive, flexible, team players who are able to create a fun, cohesive and supportive community.
Broadreach instructors are energetic and empathetic role models. They excel in building meaningful relationships with young adults and demonstrate being a respectful traveler. Groups typically have 8-12 students and are led by two Broadreach instructors. Instructors live and travel with their group of students, so this is a 24/7 role, with limited personal space.
Our instructors will lead a for credit, college level course for high schools. Instructors will relay information through lectures, guided discussions, assist with collecting research data and provide context to students as they observe local outfitters, guide students as they observe local partners, volunteer at wildlife centers, and explore animal science career paths.
As the academic lead for a program, you will be responsible for issuing and grading assignments including journal entries, research presentations, midterms and finals. We will provide course syllabus and program materials to our instructors prior to the summer.

Animal Clinic Ltd. is a busy mixed animal practice located in south central South Dakota, in the small town of Winner. The practice includes 3 veterinarians, 2 licensed veterinary technicians, 1 unlicensed veterinary technician, 2 veterinary assistants, several part time technicians and assistants and an office manager. Our caseload is approximately 90% beef cow/calf, backgrounding and feedlot. The remaining 10% is divided between small animal, equine, small ruminant and swine.
The clinic is made up of almost 10,000 sq ft under roof. We have a main clinic housing our dispensary showroom, offices and small animal facilities which covers 3,200 sq ft. Our large animal haul-in facility is enclosed and is 2,400 sq ft. The unloading facility and outdoor pens are 900 sq ft and are under roof. We also have a detached equine clinic about 80 yards away which is 3200 sq ft. The facility was purpose built in 2010.
Our equipment list includes IDEXX CBC, blood chemistry, sedivue and SNAP analyzer. Digital radiology for small animal and equine. Dental radiography and Invodent dental machine, Anaesthetic monitoring system, Bair Hugger temperature monitoring system. 14 Ultrasound machines including IBEX, Aloka and Reproscans, 10 Lane IV and 2 Lane V Pulsator electro-ejaculators, 5 Silencer and 1 Cow Country hydraulic squeeze chute, Powerfloat equine dental equipment and a padded knockdown stall for equine.
Our small animal services include routine medicine and surgery. We also provide routine equine medicine and surgery services along with more extensive reproduction and dental services. Our bovine cattle practice is very seasonal, due primarily, to the true four-season weather pattern that we experience. We diagnose pregnancy by either palpation or ultrasonography in over 60,000 head of cows or heifers, we pelvic measure over 5,000 heifers, vaccinate for brucellosis about 12,000 heifers and fertility test over 9,000 bulls annually.
We offer an emergency after hours service to all species. On call roster is shared equally amongst the veterinarians. Pittsburgh Premier Veterinary Care IS RENOVATING AND EXPANDING!!!
Come join our team as we expand our facility, scope of practice, and staff. We are currently a 2-doctor practice with 6 support staff (3 CVT's). We are located in a stand-alone 3-floor building and are currently practicing out of the ground floor as we renovate the 1st floor. Renovations will include 5 exam rooms, surgery suite, dental area, radiology suite (including ultrasound), and an open treatment room concept. The treatment room will have 4 procedure tables, two of which are mobile, heated dental tables. Once renovations are complete the other floors will be "face-lifted", and the ground floor utilized for rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation equipment includes underwater treadmill, dry tread mill, companion animal laser, and therapeutic ultrasound.
Currently our appointment book consists of a variety of routine surgical procedures, more advanced soft tissue/abdominal surgical procedures, and dental prophy which utilize our hand-held dental radiograph equipment. In-house lab equipment includes IDEXX Catalyst, Procyte, and Sedivue. IDEXX imaging service is used for our digital radiographs. Portable ultrasound unit available for in hospital use in addition to specialty call-in service echocardiogram and full abdominal ultrasounds. We also offer urgent care type appointments as well as sick and well visits. Patients consist mainly of canines and felines, but some exotic animals are seen at doctors' discretion.
Current hours of operation are Monday - Thursday 9am-7pm, and Friday 10am-3pm. No weekends or on call. Urgent care and walk-in hours offered 10am -1pm per doctor discretion. We are looking to expand these hours as we add doctors and staff during and after completion of renovations in June 2024.

Broadreach leads immersive, international summer programs for high school students with a focus on veterinary science, including a 21-day veterinary science program in Costa Rica.

Our instructors will lead a college level course for high schools where they earn academic credits from Lesley University. Instructors will relay information through lectures, guided discussions, assist with collecting research data and provide context to students as they observe local outfitters, and animal clinics. This trip will have 4 main parts, where the group will visit a farm with cows and goats, visit an equine center, observe spay and neuter clinics and volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary.
