Responsibilities:
- Perform medical examinations of dogs and cats - Provide routine preventative care - Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries - Educate pet owners on problems and treatment plans - Perform routine surgeries and dental services - Maintain accurate medical records - Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members
Qualifications
- DVM or VMD - Licensed in or eligible for license in Massachusetts - Routine soft tissue surgical competency and experience - Veterinary medicine knowledge - Animal restraint skills - Animal catheterization proficiency - Laboratory experience in veterinary settings

Case Load:
The Veterinary Associate will see patients in two shifts daily, Monday through Friday and will perform routine surgeries one morning each week. In addition, the Associate will cover 1-2 Saturday morning shifts per month. The practice consists of a long-standing, experienced team, some of whom have worked with Dr. Smith for decades. We have a large, loyal clientele and an excellent reputation in the community. There are two full-service referral hospitals within 30 minutes as well as 2 urgent care facilities. Our veterinarians are not expected to stay beyond their shift or be on-call. We prioritize a work/life balance. The culture of the hospital is collegial and down-to earth, while delivering high quality services at a high capacity.
