Responsibilities:

1. Conduct thorough physical examinations and provide accurate diagnoses for a variety of small animal patients
2. Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications, performing minor and major surgical procedures, and recommending diagnostic testing
3. Perform routine and complex surgeries, including spay/neuter, soft tissue, and some orthopedic procedures (as applicable)
4. Interpret diagnostic imaging such as X-rays, ultrasounds, and laboratory test results
5. Educate clients on preventive care, wellness plans, nutrition, and disease management
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with practice standards
7. Work collaboratively with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care
8. Provide compassionate end-of-life care and guidance for pet owners when necessary
9. Stay up to date with advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities
10.Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices regarding animal care and treatment
11. Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and contribute to a positive and supportive clinic culture
Qualifications
1. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school
2. State veterinary licensure (must be active and in good standing in the state of practice)
3. DEA license (if prescribing controlled substances) or eligibility to obtain one

Salary:
Salary dependent on experience with ProSal ranging from
$150,000 - $200,000+/year (New grads salaried for the first year with mentorship)
Percentage Based Salary Info:
ProSal (Salary + Production) after first year of employment if a new graduate

Case Load:
At Dillsburg Veterinary Center, we see routine wellness visits, sick exams, perform routine surgeries, ultrasounds and radiographs. The average appointment times are 20 - 30 minutes per pet.
