Responsibilities:
This veterinarian position involves providing care to privately-owned pets as well as shelter animals through the Wellness Clinic and the Surgery Department. Responsibilities include working shifts in the Wellness Clinic, seeing appointments and working with clients to provide the best low-cost care possible for their pets. Our veterinarians also work with our shelter and foster animals, performing examinations and formulating treatment plans. Another veterinary duty is working in our surgery department, performing low-cost soft tissue surgeries, spay/neuter services, and dental procedures. Quality patient care is first and foremost. This position requires knowledge and understanding of the mission of Providence Animal Center as well as a strong background in veterinary medicine, animal care and customer service.
Qualifications
Must be a licensed veterinarian in the state of Pennsylvania Must hold a DEA license Must have experience with high quality high volume spay/neuter Demonstrates knowledge of shelter medicine standards of care Managers must possess maturity, good leadership, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, compassion, a positive attitude, follow-through and excellent communication and teamwork skills. Fast paced, high volume wellness clinic and low-cost spay/neuter surgeries for privately-owned pets. We also care for approximately 125 shelter dogs and cats. Our foster program is robust, and we offer veterinary care for our animals in foster homes as well.
