Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, treat, and oversee the care of various small animal cases, including routine check-ups and emergency situations - Conduct routine health exams, diagnostic tests, and surgical procedures, ensuring proper follow-up care - Foster strong communication with clients while ensuring exceptional patient care, addressing their concerns with empathy and professionalism - Contribute to a supportive and positive workplace culture by mentoring new staff, sharing knowledge, and participating in team-building activities - Work collaboratively with colleagues, including veterinary technicians, support staff, and specialists, to ensure optimal patient care - Provide clients with guidance on effective pet care, emphasizing preventive measures such as vaccinations, nutrition, and parasite control - Develop lasting, meaningful relationships with both clients and their pets, ensuring repeat business through consistent care and customer service - Stay updated on the latest veterinary practices, treatments, and technologies through continuous professional development - Maintain accurate, detailed medical records for each patient, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations - Handle difficult or sensitive situations with professionalism, including managing clients’ concerns about diagnosis or treatment options - Participate in community outreach and education initiatives to promote responsible pet ownership and animal welfare
Qualifications
Required: - Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution - Current licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Connecticut - Strong team player with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and foster a collaborative work environment - Self-driven with a commitment to ongoing professional development and education, actively participating in continuing education opportunities - Dedicated to nurturing and maintaining strong relationships with bot
