Responsibilities:
THE POSITION Are you a licensed veterinarian accredited by the USDA and have a minimum of one year of professional experience? In this position, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the programs managed by the Bureau of Animal Health and Diagnostic Services. Veterinary Medical Field Officer - Region 3 description image DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will oversee the programs and legally required laws and regulations of the Bureau of Animal Health and Diagnostic Services within the Region 3 area, focusing on the surveillance and management of animal diseases. You will lead a team of Domestic Animal Health Inspectors, evaluating investigation reports, offering guidance on assignments, regulations, and policies, and delivering veterinary services aimed at controlling contagious or infectious diseases affecting domestic animals. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position is home headquartered in Region 3 which consists of the following counties: Bradford, Susquehanna, Wayne, Sullivan, Wyoming, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Carbon, Monroe, and Pike County. The Veterinary Medical Field Officer Position is a challenging and exciting position which comes with a negotiable salary up to $131,208. This position is eligible for a yearly incentive payment of $5,000, increasing further after five years of continuous service. In addition, selected candidates who are board certified, may also be eligible for payments of up to $10,000 annually, increasing further after five years of service. Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of farm animal and/or poultry practice experience as a USDA accredited veterinarian. Special Requirement: Possession of a license to practice veterinary medicine as issued by a state board of veterinary medical examiners.
