Responsibilities:
Provide clinical care to those patients presented to their assigned Service. This includes examining patients, ordering diagnostics, diagnosing, and prescribing treatments. // Have primary case responsibility when on the emergency and critical care service // Will work closely with the specialists when on other services and are expected to maintain case responsibility for hospitalized patients on those services when specialists are not in the building // Communicate with clients and referring veterinarians. // Participate in journal club, mortality and morbidity rounds, and attend cage-side rounds with specialists twice daily // Present a lecture on a topic of their choosing // About the Internship: Our goal is to support doctors who strive for excellence in private practice and encourage a critical thinking decision-making process in their medicine. The CCVS internship is dedicated to promoting animal health and well-being by offering educational opportunities both for and by the interns and residents, as well as providing exceptional veterinary care. On-the-floor mentorship expands our doctors' professional development and leadership skills, in addition to medical growth.   Specialists: CCVS provides immeasurable support for the interns in the program. There is also a board-certified cardiologist and a board-certified ophthalmologist with limited hours at our Dennis facility. We are actively recruiting for additional specialists in various specialties.   Our team of specialists include:   Criticalists (7); Internist (2); Anesthesiologist (1); Radiologist (1); Dermatologist (1); Surgeons (7); Cardiologist (1);   Exotic (1)   The support staff includes: Over 60 veterinary technicians, including licensed and VTS technicians// Assistants and liaisons// Doctors' Assistants for medical record support// A veterinary social worker for support of both our clients and employees.
Qualifications
Must pass NAVLE/PAVE/ECFVG and have an active license to practice in MA
