Case Load:
Our full time Associate Veterinarian days/hours are approximately 4-5 days a week, eight-to-nine-hour shifts (including paid half hour lunches and other reserved breaks through the day) to be determined upon consultation with the applicant. One to two Saturday shifts a month of 9am to 3pm would be needed. On average per shift, each vet sees approximately 12 appointments. Our standard appointment blocks are set up as 30 minutes each, versus the national average of 20 minute increments. Of those 12+ appointments at this time, three are reserved and set specifically as return annual physical, (unless working a designated “emergencies” period) and the remaining are filled by non-emergency medical/physicals, re-checks which are given 20-minute slots, new patient/client exams, additional ps2s and worked-in emergency appointments that are scheduled only at the instruction of and with the consulted veterinarian. One of the weekdays will be split between surgery and appointments. Surgery days are a four-hour window that the veterinarian completes on average 3-5 surgeries, consisting usually of dentals, spay/neuters and the occasional more complex surgery, all with the aid of specifically designated surgical staff. Our founder/medical director is available for assistance on any surgery as well. The remaining time is split into breaks and approximately six assorted appointments. In addition to a 30-minute lunchbreak, veterinarians are also given two additional 30-minute breaks on weekdays to allow them to catch up on appointment notes, be consulted on other appointments, return client calls, etc..
Benefits:
Our positions all offer competitive salary. Full time Associate Veterinarians are eligible for full benefits such as bonuses, matching 401K, medical & dental insurance, paid CE and CE time, paid licensing and fees, employee pet perks & discounts, paid lunch breaks, and paid sick & vacation with lots of other perks and room for professional and personal growth! For part-time and relief veterinarians we are always open to discussion to meet the needs of applicants.
