VMD/DVM Positions are available for veterinary associates, and graduates of veterinary medicine. All positions require a graduate degree in veterinary medicine (VMD or DVM).

Responsibilities:
A typical day would include *Seeing scheduled appointments for both wellness/preventative care examinations for dogs and cats *Sick patient exams *General surgery *Dentistry *Euthanizing pets in cases where medical treatment is, or would be, ineffective. *Maintaining and Updating pet records following each treatment and medical procedure.
Qualifications
*Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) Degree *State Veterinary License *The ability to think and act quickly *Sound analytical and problem-solving skills *Excellent communication skills

Big Spring Veterinary Associates, Inc., doing business as Newville & Holly Pike Animal Hospitals, a privately owned three doctor small animal practice with two offices located in Newville & Carlisle, in South Central Pennsylvania is seeking an Associate Veterinarian who shares our passion for providing the very best in patient care. Because we are a privately owned hospital, our associate DVM’s have the freedom to practice individualized patient medicine. Our doctors know the value provided for both themselves and our patients when we utilize the skills and knowledge of our trained, talented and experienced veterinary technician staff. Our entire team works well together to make our days more manageable for our doctors, our clients and our patients. We know that what we do matters in the lives of those we treat but we also know that there has to be balance in life and to make that happen our offices operate on a 5-day work week, Monday through Friday with no weekends, no on-call or after hour emergency work. All after hour emergencies are referred to local ER’s. A typical day would include seeing appointments for both wellness/preventative care and sick patient exams, general surgery, dentistry and general practice for dogs and cats.
