VMD/DVM Positions are available for veterinary associates, and graduates of veterinary medicine. All positions require a graduate degree in veterinary medicine (VMD or DVM).

Responsibilities:
Out-patient appointments for wellness visits and medical problems. Development of individualized treatment plan for each patient including vaccinations, diet recommendations, parasite prevention, medical treatments and testing, dermatology evaluations, chronic disease management, and surgical interventions. With appropriate training and experience, doctors are scheduled to perform routine procedures such as spays, neuters, dentals and lump removals one day weekly. More complex surgical procedures may be scheduled dependent on level of skill and experience.
Qualifications
DVM or equivalent NH state veterinary license (can be obtained after hire)

Salary:
Up to $140,000+ annually. Salary is negotiable based upon experience.

Case Load:
On a typical day in outpatient, our doctors are scheduled 14 appointments. 7 well pet appointments which consist of annual exams and vaccinations and 7 appointments that consist of urgent care visits and recheck appointments. Our doctors enjoy working together and collaborating on more involved cases. We primarily treat dogs and cats but we do see a few pocket pets as well.

Owner, Amy Hollengreen, has been with AAH since she received her Veterinary Degree (VMD) from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993. She purchased Amherst Animal Hospital in 2000 and became the sole owner in 2006. Our goal is to be able to provide comprehensive care at out hospital, so in addition to providing routine surgeries and procedures, we also work with multiple traveling specialty veterinary teams such as Cardiology, Internal medicine and Orthopedics. We are a collaborative practice and our doctors routinely consult with each other. Mentoring is a valuable part of our hospital and it is readily available for medical work-ups, radiograph and other diagnostic reviews, and surgical guidance.
