Seeing 20 minute appointments in a timely fashion. Working up admitted cases as thoroughly as possible within client means. Educating clients with current knowledge about treatment options, preventive care, behavior, and diet . Having a strong working knowledge of our products, including preventives, medications, nutraceuticals, and diets, Handling surgery days with competence and good time management to complete an average of 4-8 procedures or admits. Typical procedures include spay, neuter, dental extractions, gastropexy, cystotomy, mass removal, enucleation, mastectomy, and occasional enterotomy, gastrotomy, or limb/tail/toe amputation. Attending to files between appointments and at shift end regarding refills, call backs, test results, and referrals. Treating patients with calm demeanor and gentle handling. Treating clients and coworkers with respect and professionalism.

Case Load:
Canine and feline patients, approximately equal. Cases range from vaccines and minor issues - such as derm, ears, GI upset, skin masses, lameness, URI, UTI - to more involved illnesses, behavior cases, and emergencies.

Erie Animal Hospital is a busy, 4 doctor, exclusively small animal practice serving Erie Pennsylvania since 1952. Our hospital is cat friendly and declaw free. We are seeking two additional associate veterinarians, and welcome new graduates. The hospital is open Monday through Friday 8 am to 8 pm, and Saturday 8 am to 2 pm. There is no on-call duty since we have a local emergency center open nights, weekends, and holidays. Multiple 24 hour specialty facilities are within 2 hours of Erie. We retain a strong core of dedicated and experienced veterinary technicians and assistants. Our client base is well-established, and often spans several generations. Equipment includes a GE ultrasound machine with color flow Doppler, digital radiography including dental, IM3 complete dental unit with high speed drill, VetTome, Cardell anesthesia monitors, Lifepak unit, tonopen, cryopen, oxygen generator, full Idexx in-house laboratory, and Cornerstone operating system. Our doctors foster a collaborative environment with mentoring and case discussion on a daily basis. Any professional interests, would be encouraged, such as exotics, orthopedics, laser therapy, acupuncture, physical therapy, etc. A lasting relationship with a new associate is desirable, as ownership opportunity will be offered to a compatible candidate.
