Additional Comments:
Pinnacle’s emergency mentorship program is a unique opportunity for recent graduates looking for an alternative to a rotating internship in the Philadelphia area. We are seeking new or recent veterinary graduates who are: passionate about emergency and critical care medicine. The program offers on the floor mentorship from a team where 90% (8/9) of our emergency and critical care doctors have five or more years of experience and 50% (5/9) have ten or more years of experience. Mentees will have the opportunity to learn ultrasound, radiograph and CT interpretation from a board certified radiologist who currently also teaches at two academic institutions.. In addition, opportunities to learn common emergency surgical procedures from a board certified surgeon who has trained three DACVS residents is also available. We are fortunate to have the support from a nursing team made up of 70% CVTs and three VTS nursing specialists - two in ECC and one in internal medicine. The mission of PVS is to create a medicine first, patient first culture in a smaller, veterinarian owned hospital. our culture affords the freedom of autonomy for doctors to make on the ground decisions without layers of management, recognizes and rewards emergency doctors as critical members of our team, and provides an opportunity to work in a smaller, collaborative environment that feels more like a family than just a place to work. We are looking for doctors and nurses who are able to see the world and the hospital beyond themselves and who find joy in working together and learning from each other. They are the people at work who are easy to get along with, smile a lot, and are always willing to help.
