Responsibilities:
Under the Supervision of the Director of the Animal Models Core, the Clinical Research Veterinarian has responsibility for: maintaining the physical and psychological health of laboratory animals utilized in gene therapy research; compliance with regulations governing humane and ethical treatment and use of laboratory animals; animal model development; ensuring quality animal supply for studies. The Clinical Research Veterinarian will advise researchers on the design, implementation, and completion of studies to evaluate gene therapies and assist with submission of IACUC protocols, ensuring regulatory compliance within GTP, and provide oversight to post approval monitoring of IACUC protocols and animal study areas for GTP. Licensure to practice veterinary medicine in at least one US state and ability to obtain licensure in Pennsylvania within 6 months of employment is required.
Qualifications
