Case Load:
We are currently a small animal-only facility so the caseload is predominately cats and dogs with routine preventive health procedures, care of common problems and, as well, care of not-so-routine medical and surgical problems. We do not do after-hours emergency care and have no plans to do so unless we employ a veterinarian interested in this aspect of practice. There is potential to develop a large animal practice as the local farm, equine, and homestead large animal populations are markedly underserved. The CVS facility has room for expansion to serve large animals with potential room for a surgery and box stalls as well as a dedicated entry for large animal trailers to access the building.
Benefits:
Competitive Salary, Paid time off, Continuing Education, Financial support for furthering education or developing a new skill set, Professional Licensing Fees, Retirement plan, Ownership potential, Enthusiastic & well-trained support team, Mentorship with highly experienced vet for new/recent grads, Living accomodations if desired, Generous Employee discount.
Additional Comments:
The Carrabassett Valley area of Maine is a last stronghold of good living in small town America. We have recently renovated our clinic and now are enjoying working in our thoughtfully planned facility, with digital imaging and modern lab facilities, all integrated into our cloud-based medical record. We are one of the only veterinary practices in the area which is actively growing. We are looking for one or two dedicated experienced professionals or new graduates keen on living and working in one of the most beautiful areas of Vacationland, with places to hike and bike, access to fishing, boating, hunting, snowmobile trails, and a world-renowned ski resort and golf course. But, more than that, this is a wonderful place to live and grow a family.
