Responsibilities:
Beckoning Cat Project is a nonprofit, high quality spay/neuter and wellness clinic in northcentral PA. We are located within three hours of NYC, Philly, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, etc.
We started our clinic in 2014 and have spayed or neutered over 26,000 cats since then. We have just moved to a larger and upgraded facility and are looking to expand our services and hours. We can accommodate full or part time or a mix of both. Some Saturdays would be required. There are no on call or emergency hours.
We generally perform 20-25 spay/neuters for pet, barn, stray and feral cats per day plus limited wellness appointments. We also offer amputations, enucleations, entropion and other surgeries as needed for strays and ferals. We are also planning on offering dental cleaning services as well.
We take pride in the care the cat receives while they are with us. We are a bit of a hybrid somewhere between full service vet care and spay/neuter clinic efficiency and are well respected by the full service vets in our area.
Our work with our local SPCA has enabled them to go from a high kill shelter to a low kill shelter (no euthanizing ferals or for space any longer) who has fully adopted TNR as a policy.
If you want to feel like you are making a difference at the end of the day and love cats, this is the job for you.
As a nonprofit you would qualify for the Student Loan Forgiveness Program.
While we would prefer someone with surgery experience we are willing to train a candidate with a passion for surgery and a love for saving and improving cats' lives.
Must be able to eventually work on their own and perform 20 plus spay/neuters per day.
