Responsibilities:
Practice in accordance with state practice act and principles of veterinary medical ethics
Leverage evidence-based medicine and continue pursuit of education to deliver quality patient care
Devote yourself to the culture of preventive care and Optimum Wellness Plans
Adopt and positively impact new veterinary standards and guidelines
Deliver medical and surgical treatments with formulary approved pharmaceuticals, supplies, and equipment, in accordance with Banfield’s Medical Quality Standards
Partner with clients as an advocate for the pet to plan follow-up visits, provide home-care instructions, and education to ensure the lifelong health of their pets
Maintain relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems, including Banfield’s database, PetWare, designed to obtain data for population research

Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date.
A State Controlled Substance (SCS) License may be required by the state in which you intend to work. If you do not already hold an SCS, Banfield encourages you to obtain this license after your start date as the practice may reimburse this cost.

Salary:
The anticipated starting base salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $102,000 to $170,000 per year, plus production. Base salary to be determined by the schedule, location, experience, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Increased sign-on offerings and relocation support available.

Case Load:
Dependent on hospital location. We see comprehensive wellness exams, sick internal medicine visits, urgent care/ER visits, surgery - soft tissue (spay/neuter) and dental prophylaxis with advanced soft tissue surgery dependent on DVM expertise as well as dental extractions.

Banfield Hospitals are located in Pet Smart and standalone locations across the US and PR. All locations have digital radiographs and digital dental radiographs. Many hospitals have cautery and ultrasound units. All hospitals perform spay/neuter and dentistry prophylaxis with extractions. Most locations have DVMs that perform advanced soft tissue procedures, such as, FBs, cystotomies, enucleations, mass removals and other surgeries. This is dependent on location and expertise of surgeon.
